As if I didn’t have enough reasons to look up to Carl Lam, he had to give me one more before he left his alma mater.
Nearing the end of his senior year, Carl was awarded the Lanford Presidential Prize.
This prestigious honor is awarded to just one hard-working student each year.
“Criteria for the award, endowed by the late President Emeritus Oscar E. Lanford and Mrs. Esther Lanford, include significant intellectual growth and achievement, a minimum grade point average of 3.5 and exemplary service to SUNY Fredonia as well as a high degree of personal honesty and integrity.”
I would love nothing more than to be awarded this same honor for my collegiate achievements. Being able to sit on-stage at commencement and look out to a sea of smiling faces from my peers would be an incredible way to wrap-up my time at Fredonia.
